Written in stone
Last night, Paul and I went to dinner with his family to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday. Over calamari, Paul Sr. complained about the newest house going up in their neighborhood.
"It's three feet from our property line!"
Apparently, serious measure have been taken to keep the contractors from trampling my in-laws' yard. The family has put up a fence, posted signs ... and not-so-gently reminded the contractors to stay off private property.
Last week, the construction workers accidentally cut the gas main, and when Paul's family got home, the gas had been leaking for over three hours. People a mile away could smell it.
It was the last straw. The concrete had just been poured for the back patio, so my father-in-law snuck over ...
... and, in an inconspicuous corner, carved EAT ME.
I love my family. :)

i can see where Paul gets his fun side. ;)
That's so awesome! I wish I could have done somthing similar when dealing with the apartment complex went up across the street last year.
Yes! Punk lives!
Considering gas was on and it real stinky, maybe he should have wrote "Fart" or "You am stinky!"
You know some people can take "eat me" literally and then you got to go to court and explain who tried to eat who and who got hurt pulling who from who's gullet... it no fun at all!
Em points out to De that we can still get a battery powered Dremel... And I'm loving Paul's Dad. Hi, I'm De's wife. My Mom had a neighbor build too close to the property line (tho it's acreage, so not QUITE so claustophobic). They just make a point of being out mowing with the loudest tractor they have at the ass crack of dawn on Saturdays and Sundays in the field right by the house - and using really ugly fencing on that property line.
Ouch. Fences make great neighbors.
