I think the book should be called The Chicago Style of Manual or (TCSoM) "Tissscom" if you actually try to pronouce it.
This way, there is less confusion than calling it CMOS which is also a memory type.

Did you know they have sentence examples in the latest edition in which they do not capitalize the words Sun, Moon, and Earth? Naughty, naughty.
Ahhh, THAT is the Chicago Manual of Style.
