P365 Day 110: Where once a pumpkin stood

My neighbors put out their jack-o-lantern Saturday night. This is what it looked like Wednesday morning. Poor little guy. Never stood a chance against the marsh humidity.

Also, eww.

The pumpkin that I carved in class for my students on last Thursday had collapsed and molded byi Monday morning. It wasn't outside, but it was by a window. Florida humidity sucks too!

Actually, Paul and I were "examining" this specimen on our way home tonight (he resisted the urge to poke it), and he said, "You know what caused that, right?"

At the same time I said, "Humidity," he said, "All the mold spores in the air."

Ugh. He's probably right. I don't even want to think about it.

Holy crap. It looks like it snowed on it. That's a LOT of mold.
